Greek and Irish National Competence Centres on Innovation Procurement present benefits of innovation procurement

The Greek and the Irish National Competence Centres, members of the Procure2Innovate Network, presented the principles and the benefits of innovation procurement in the Conference of the Vice Rectors of the Greek Universities, which was held in Delphi in Greece on the 15th July 2021.

Mr. Konstantinos Tzanetopoulos, General Director of Public Procurement in the Ministry of Development and Investments and Mr Vassilis Tsanidis, Senior Policy Officer of the Directorate of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the Region of Central Macedonia represented the Greek National Competence Centre and presented to the academic and research community the opportunities opened through the implementation of innovation procurement.

Mrs Ingrid De Doncker, CEO of IDDEA, represented the Irish National Competence Centre and described the synergies that have been developed with the universities in Ireland. Mrs De Doncker also proposed cross border collaboration on this field between the universities of the two countries. The Vice Rectors of the Greek Universities were very positive about the proposal and explained that they would prepare actions to move forward in this direction and in the context of implementing and mainstreaming innovation procurement.

The innovation procurement presentations at this high level event are part of the initiatives of the Greek National Competence Centre on Innovation Procurement which aim to expand the stakeholders’ network and promote the implementation of innovation procurement in Greece.
