Procura+ Awards finalists unveiled

The jury of the 2020 Procura+ Awards, which recognise excellence in innovation and sustainable public procurement, has revealed this year’s eight finalists.

The ‘Outstanding Innovation Procurement in ICT’ Award will either go to BIG (the federal Austrian real estate agency) for their innovation partnership to develop app-based facility management software, or to the FABULOS Project, for their Pre-Commercial Procurement project of automated vehicles for public transport.

The City of Koprivnica (Croatia) is up against  Malmö (Sweden) for the ‘Innovation Procurement of the Year’ Award. Koprivnica used an innovation partnership for the selective demolition and renovation of a Kindergarten building. Malmö wanted to improve its ICT purchases in terms of sustainability and ethics as well as innovation and entered a framework contract with an ICT purchaser.

In the category of ‘Sustainable Procurement of the Year’, the Regional Council of the Brittany Region (France) will compete with KAMP C, Flanders (Belgium). Haarlem (the Netherlands) and BBG – the Austrian Competence Centre for Innovation Procurement – are competing for ‘Procurement Initiative of the Year’.

The Procura+ Awards ceremony will take place on October 1st at Conference “Environmental Aspects in Public Procurement in Europe”, organised by the German Environment Agency.
